Concrete skateparks face intense wear and tear from both users and the elements. Acid rain, air pollution, and frost cause the concrete to deteriorate over time. This leads to damage on the smooth surface, creating an uneven terrain for skaters and increasing the risk of accidents. If the damage process continues long enough, the reinforcement becomes exposed, leading to significantly higher repair costs.
At the Nordic region’s largest skatepark, all surfaces have been renovated using specially designed concrete grinders equipped with flexible diamond grinding discs.
After a thorough cleaning, all surfaces were impregnated. First, two layers of Controll Innerseal were applied to prevent moisture absorption, followed by a layer of Controll Innerseal Plus for an extra hard, durable, and protective finish.
