WASTEWATER TREATMENT,
BERGEN

Handling wastewater from 300,000 people requires large-scale infrastructure. The first facility to be completed is the Ytre Sandviken treatment plant, with three more plants to follow.

Building large treatment facilities inside mountains is a custom-made process from start to finish. It’s a demanding task, requiring a massive team effort involving the City of Bergen, as well as dedicated consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

The fjords and sea around Bergen are now even cleaner, thanks to the expansion and upgrade of these treatment plants. The facility now features secondary treatment, removing 75% of the organic matter from the wastewater.

More than 25,000 m² of concrete in contact with wastewater has been treated with Controll Innerseal.
